Sound of The Year Award 2023 - Children's Category

My year 2 classes won the international competition, the Sound of the Year Award, creating a piece of acousmatic soundscape music based on their community. Children participated by creating graphic scores, vocalising and choosing different effects to edit the sound using a DAW.

Advanced Composition

I have been a vocal composition tutor for advanced students at the Sound and Music Summer School for young composers, where I supported students with compositional ideas and ways to communicate ideas with professional musicians. I also premiered some of the students' works.

Adult Improvisation Workshop

I have led improvisation workshops for professional, and amateur performers as well as adult workshops in community settings. These workshops are led with movement and everyday gestures/ utterances which are artified to display embodied creativity.

Children Improvisation

I have led improvisation with children in both community and school settings. These workshops are led with experimentation on new/unfamiliar instruments, transcending the usual focus of instrumental technique. My workshops have enabled children to display their creativity through discovery and play.
